Ir despatch N291 of 6" March, Your Lordship desires to be informed of the

particulars of the dues from the, Government Markets, and the grounds upon which the pents have been

determined.

The markets are three in number. The middle or central market. being the most valuable from itsposition, was sold by auction in August last for the monthly rent of 300 dollars payable in advance. This is perrewable by auction at the expiration of a year. The western or lower market,
